Introducing Theme-based Activities
Location: Moonridge YMCA Computer Clubhouse,
Half Moon Bay, California
The Activity Guide Library created for the Intel Computer Clubhouse Network was designed specifically to make it easy for Clubhouse members to apply their own interests and ideas to a variety of print and digital projects. Members establish their own themes each time they approach one of the Librarys activities, and they define for themselves the goals they wish to achieve as they complete their work.
For this reason, the Activity Guide Library is a good resource for coordinators who wish to present Clubhouse members a variety of ways in which they can approach a single theme.
At the Moonridge Computer Clubhouse in Half Moon Bay, Coordinator Mandy Clothier chose to introduce the Activity Guide Library to her Clubhouse in just this way. After briefly introducing the entire Library, she encouraged Clubhouse members to consider using any of four specific guides to explore a single theme: Music.
Clubhouse members reviewed the Create a Music Website, Create a Music Video, Create a CD Booklet, and Create a Banner Ad Activity Guides.
