Third Annual Student Arts Celebration
On May 8th, close to 1000 students, teachers, and family members from Irving, Dallas, and Keller middle schools came together for the third annual Student Arts Celebration on May 8th at Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas.
This evening event celebrated the more than 3,000 young people and teachers who took part in the Mobile Learning Institute and Make a Connection programs during the 2006–2007 school year in the Texas cities of Irving, Dallas, and Keller.
The celebration combined presentations by students who – working with artists in their own classrooms – created spoken-word and creative arts pieces that shared their ideas about personal issues and digital films that presented understanding of important academic themes and ideas. In addition, students had the opportunity to listen to music provided by a local d.j and to take personal photos using the latest Nokia Mobile devices.
