The National Writing Project

The National Writing Project, one of the country's leading professional development networks, has partnered with the Pearson Foundation and the Digital Arts Alliance to develop innovative programs addressing the effective integration of digital media and writing in the classroom. Focused on educational leadership, teacher training and student-centered instructional strategies, the partnership targets 21st century skills and the expanding definition of literacy in our classrooms and the communities.

National Writing Project–Pearson Foundation programs like Letters to the Next President Campaign and the Profiles in Practice best practice documentary series provide professional educators with the resources they need to introduce authentic writing activities in conjunction with engaging digital media projects. These initiatives encourage dialogue and exchange in professional development settings and support teachers with the tools they need to provide their students with new opportunities to develop their voices as writers, to deepen their understanding of audience and to reflect upon and present their work publicly.
